Especially in the visible frontal region, aesthetic reconstruction is a high priority. Here, we place great importance on the value of minimally-invasive treatment methods in order to preserve as much natural tooth structure as possible and only undertake what is necessary to treat the defect. Our range of services in aesthetic dentistry includes the following:

  • Tooth-coloured (composite) fillings
  • Ceramic coverings (veneers) for the front-tooth (incisor) region
  • Tooth-coloured or gold filings (inlays)
  • All-ceramic partial crowns, crowns and bridges
  • individual colour design and shaping of different types of artificial dentures (dental prostheses)
  • Artificial tooth roots (implants)
  • Removal of tooth discoloration caused by coffee, tea and nicotine
  • bleaching splints
We will be happy to provide consultation regarding the alternatives available to meet your needs.

Prophylaxis for children

ediatric dentistry includes all the measures required for children and adolescents to have healthy teeth...ediatric dentistry includes all the measures required for children and adolescents to have healthy teeth, such as nutritional advice, prophylaxis, fluoridation of the teeth, fissure sealing, caries treatment, gum disease as well as early childhood orthodontic treatment for teeth misalignment (malocclusion).
Dental care has to be learned and practiced just like reading and writing. The ideal time to start dental care is when the first teeth break through. It takes time for children to develop the sense of trust in dental care experts and assistants which is necessary so that visits to the dentist do not produce anxiety or become associated with negative feelings. Therefore, we recommend bringing your children with you to your next check-up. In a relaxed and welcoming way, you will get to know us and our office. We will explain and show you how our “devices” work. You are also welcome to press a button or two and see what happens.

There are specially designed preventative-care (prophylactic) measures for every age group.

For children up to the age of 6, we perform the so-called “early detection” examination. This includes the detection of possible tooth, mouth and jaw conditions, individual counseling for parents with regard to care, tooth development and nutrition, the assessment of caries risk and recommendation or, if necessary, prescription of suitable means for enamel hardening. In the phase from the 6th to the 18th year of life, particularly intensive care takes place every six months:
During a dental examination, we look at a variety of indicators that provide details about the condition of care or degree of inflammation. The result determines the complexity and scope of subsequent explanations and instruction. In the event of increased caries risk or unfavourable anatomical conditions, we recommend applying sealants on permanent back teeth (molars). Tooth fluoridation is often performed directly at the end of treatment. Appropriate preparations are recommended for home care and intensive fluoridation is prescribed. We recommend quarterly to half-yearly check-ups for milk teeth (primary or deciduous dentition) and mixed teeth (mixed dentition) until the change of teeth is complete (usually up to the age of 18). Through these prophylactic measures we create the best conditions for your child to experience a caries-free childhood.

– An examination by a school dentist is no substitute for a family dentist –

Periodontal Therapy

Most teeth are not lost through caries, but through gum disease (periodontitis). This is an...Most teeth are not lost through caries, but through gum disease (periodontitis). This is an inflammation of the connective tissue and gum (periodontium) caused by bacteria and plaque. In Germany, a large number of adults suffer from the disease, often without knowing it. The bacteria are initially found on plaque and tartar. If these elements are not regularly removed by proper oral hygiene and, for example, professional tooth cleaning, bacteria can enter the depths of the gum pockets and cause acute or chronic inflammation of the gums and periodontium.
This usually manifests itself in sensitive and reddened gums, frequent gum bleeding, gum recession, secretion discharge and often bad breath.
As the inflammation develops, the pockets enlarge as the surrounding bone degenerates. Finally, the teeth loosen and have to be removed in severe cases.
In this case, professional tooth cleaning alone is no longer sufficient and an intensive cleaning of the gum pockets must be carried out, taking into account appropriate prerequisite treatment. Our goal is the complete removal of any inflammatory elements.
Regular professional tooth cleaning, good oral hygiene and consistent check-ups in our offices are critical for sustainable, effective treatment. Only in this way can new inflammations be recognised and immediately treated.

Implantology

There are many factors that lead to tooth loss, such as accidents, tooth decay, periodontitis...There are many factors that lead to tooth loss, such as accidents, tooth decay, periodontitis and other diseases. We use implants to protect healthy teeth or to improve the hold, comfort and wearability of dentures. Dental implants are to replace the natural tooth root – in form and function.
A dental implant works the jawbone. When chewing, the dental implants transmit physiological stimuli into the bone – similar to a natural tooth. This contributes decisively to the long-term integrity of the jawbone.
Since a dental implant grows directly into the bone (osseointegration), it can perform the same function as natural tooth roots: it supports dentures (dental prostheses), e.g. single crowns, bridges, or it can securely anchor removable dental prostheses such as telescopic prostheses or locators. If there is insufficient bone remaining, previous bone augmentation is necessary. Bone replacement materials as well as natural bone are used.
Procedure
Radiographic and technical model planning is carried out in advance and, after extensive clarification and discussion, the implantation is planned. Then, the Titanium CAMLOG implants are utilized. The CAMLOG implant system is “Made in Germany” and integrates many years of clinical and laboratory know-how from state-of-the-art manufacturing technology with the latest findings from basic research. It has been one of the most widely used implant types worldwide for years. Numerous studies confirm good results with long-term survival and tolerability.
First, the implant placed in the jawbone is covered with mucosa.
As a rule, the healing process is checked and the implant is uncovered after a waiting period of quarter of a year. After another two weeks, the prosthetic restoration (single crowns, bridges, combined prosthetic restorations) can begin. This is performed. according to the type of restoration in several treatment steps.
Follow-up checks and measures of professional tooth (implant) cleaning will be discussed with you and put on record for recall to help you be able to enjoy your dental prosthesis for a long time.

Functional diagnostics of the jaw joint

The harmonious interaction between the upper and lower jaw ensures the smooth chewing process...The harmonious interaction between the upper and lower jaw ensures the smooth chewing process. Malfunctions in the jaw can cause grinding of the teeth, clenching of the teeth or restrict movement in the jaw joint. The consequences can be headache/ migraine, back pain, restricted mouth opening, above-average wear of the teeth (so-called abrasion), periodically occurring tinnitus or painful muscle tension in the neck as well as the chewing muscles.Patients with muscular or jaw joint (mandibular joint) problems are increasingly more common at our offices. In most cases, multiple factors can be identified as the cause and treated.Clinical examinations of the head, chewing (masticatory) muscles, the lower jaw movements or the examination of the mandibular joints for clicking and rubbing sounds are important for diagnosis, as are models of bite (dentition). A night-guard (bite splint), custom-made in our laboratory, often helps to establish harmony between teeth, muscles and the mandibular joint. Functional abnormalities concerning chewing (masticatory) organs can be related to problems with occlusion. Sanding or prosthetic measures may be necessary. In order to eliminate the cause of the disturbance, we integrate physiotherapists and, if necessary, psychologists into the treatment process.Additionally, we offer:

House call visits

People who are ill or in need of care and patients with disabilities or mobility...People who are ill or in need of care and patients with disabilities or mobility impairments deserve the same access to treatment and are cared for comprehensively by us, even if they can no longer visit our offices on their own. This is true whether the issue is simple preventive examinations, treatment for pain, denture (dental prosthetic) cleaning or repairs. For you, we will make an personal appointment and come to your home. Furthermore, we also conduct regular visits to retirement and nursing homes and bring our mobile unit with us. Preservative as well as surgical and prosthetic treatments can be carried out.The dental home visit is included in the scope of services of the private and statutory health insurance. This means the cost of examination and treatment, as well as the travel costs, are usually covered by health insurance companies.

Professional teeth cleaning (PZR)

Daily and thorough dental and oral hygiene is essential to keep teeth permanently healthy...Daily and thorough dental and oral hygiene is essential to keep teeth permanently healthy. Over time, teeth surfaces accumulate various kinds of plaque:

  • Colorants from food and beverages (coffee, tea, nicotine)
  • Bacterial plaque
  • Tartar and dental plaque (calculus), which develops most easily in hard-to-reach areas:
  • Between teeth spaces
  • anatomically-undesirable chewing surfaces
  • constricted teeth
  • exposed root surfaces due to gingival recession
  • protruding crown and filling edges
  • gingival pockets
Not all of these retention surfaces are accessible through home oral care. We therefore recommend professional tooth cleaning by our trained and qualified staff at least once or twice a year in order to reduce the risk of tooth decay (caries) and gum disease (periodontitis). Also, crowns and bridges have a longer service life.

Our prophylaxis program.

Procedure:
First an individual assessment is made. Then we remove hard and soft build-up (tartar, plaque) with modern, ultrasound equipment and, if necessary, special hand instruments (scalers, curettes). For the removal of more severe discolorations (tea, coffee, nicotine, wine) our Airflow device is deployed. Airflow is a powder-jet technique in which a mixture of water and special salt is sprayed onto the teeth and thus accumulated discolorations and microbial plaque can be carefully removed.
Then the teeth are cleaned and polished with rotating rubber polishing cups and a polishing paste. New bacterial coating can adhere less easily to the highly polished surfaces. Finally, the treated tooth surfaces are coated with a fluoride varnish, which effectively protects the surface.
We will also give you suggestions for optimising oral hygiene at home. This includes the use of a toothbrush that is suitable for you, the correct use of dental floss and/or inter-dental brushes and, potentially the use of a tongue cleaner and advice on proper nutrition.

Costs:
A PZR lasts about 30 – 60 minutes and the price, calculated individually according to degree of difficulty and effort, is generally 40 – 80 Euro.

Tip:
Many statutory health insurance plans subsidise the cost of professional dental cleaning. Ask your insurer about the current requirements for a subsidy.

Root canal treatment

Deep tooth decay (caries), gum disease (periodontitis) or the result of injury can cause...Deep tooth decay (caries), gum disease (periodontitis) or the result of injury can cause irreversible damage to the dental nerve.
This can result in severe pain from heat (thermal stimuli), bite or contact sensitivity, swelling or pressure pain. Here, root canal treatment is necessary to preserve the tooth. Accordingly, the diseased, infected tissue is removed from the root canal. After extensive disinfecting measures and appropriate medication, the canal preparations with X-ray control and the subsequent root canal filling take place. These teeth can usually be preserved functionally and aesthetically for many years to come. A combined conservative – surgical treatment is possible through a “root resection” (apicoectomy).
